Need help in manning a Sierra Club Table at the City of Santa Fe's COMMUNITY DAY FESTIVAL, this Saturday May 17. This is a yearly event where Santa Fe opens up the Plaza for non-profit organizations to connect to each other and the general public. We used to participate years ago, then fell off the mail list, and found out about it this year just in time to get the last reserved space (near San Francisco St.). It is a great opportunity for outreach and for making our Sierra Club presence in Santa Fe more visible. It runs from 10am - 6pm, and I envision 4 time slots of 2 people each. We need to arrive about 9:30 to set up, since vehicles will be banned from the plaza area from 10-6. However the downtown parking meters will be turned off so there will be parking for our vehicles on the side streets. We cannot sell merchandise or fundraise, but are strongly encouraged to distribute literature and recruit members. I am thinking we can divide the time into: 9:30 - 12 12-2 2-4 4-6 This needs to be a team effort, and will be a good opportunity for some of our newer members to meet other members, and for all of us to get to better know some of the many other non-profits in Santa Fe. The weather forecast is for mild temperatures and slightly cloudy. Let me know if you can help! Norma McCallan 471-0005 nmccallan@mindspring.com

Numerous opportunities to do web work, generate publicity, raise funds, keep tabs on the Santa Fe City Council, clean up the Santa Fe River, recruit members, collect email addresses, organize events, design and conduct a survey, deal with National Forest issues, price items for a yard sale, and fight global warming. See details on the Northern Group's home webpage and Volunteering page.
