Politics and Issues: Endorsements

The Northern Group endorses the following candidates and their forward thinking efforts to create a liveable and sustainable future for New Mexico:

U.S. Senate: Tom Udall
Third Congressional District: Ben Ray Lujan
Ben Ray Lujan, as Chair of the Public Regulation Commission, has been a leader in addressing climate change. He championed the RPS, which requires that utilities use 20% renewables by 2020.
Senate District 3: John Pinto
John Pinto has opposed a tax subsidy for Desert Rock Coal Plant.
Senate District 25: Peter Wirth
House District 68: Thomas Garcia
Thomas Garcia has supported the Sabinosa Wilderness.
Santa Fe County Commission District 4: Kathy Holian
Kathy Holian is a long time environmentalist and has served 6 years on the County Development Review Committee
Santa Fe County Commission District 5: Liz Stefanics
Liz Stefanics has a long record as a true progressive.
